House System
In 2025, we relaunched our House System, which is designed to build community, nurture a sense of belonging, and encourage healthy competition across the school, allowing everyone to thrive.
Every TKS student and staff member belongs to one of our three Houses: Pathos, Ethos, or Logos. These names are inspired by Aristotle’s famous triad of persuasion.

- Pathos represents empathy, compassion and emotional connection.
- Ethos stands for character, integrity, and respecting values.
- Logos reflects reasoning, knowledge, and the power of ideas.
Together, these Houses reflect Aristotle’s belief that true education should shape both the heart and the mind. As he said, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” At TKS, we are committed to developing our young people into rounded individuals so this idea links with our core values.
Through House activities, competitions and shared goals, students develop friendships across year groups, grow in confidence and take pride in contributing to something bigger than themselves. The House System is a cornerstone of our school culture – celebrating achievement, fostering teamwork, and ensuring every student knows they belong.
Our House Shields were designed during a whole school competition. The winning designs are by Year 11 students Alara (Pathos) and Jack (Ethos) and Year 9 student Evie (Logos).
