Next Meeting:

Monday 3rd February 2025, 6pm on Broadway Campus.

Please come along to find out more about what we do, and what we'll be funding to boost equipment and facilities for all our children. We hope you can make it!

Welcome to The Kingsway Association

What is The Kingsway Association?

We are The Kingsway School’s Parent Teacher Association. We’re aware that as students move into their teens they’re not as keen on having their parents hanging around school, so instead of organising and attending events, we ask for donations from parents to raise funds to buy things the school couldn’t otherwise afford.

What do we ask from you?

We ask for a proposed donation of £10.00 per term, and requests for this will be sent out by school via School Gateway. Or if you can, please complete the Standing Order and Gift Aid forms (linked below). The Gift Aid form enables us to claim an additional 25% tax relief at no extra cost to yourself.

The Kingsway Association is here for all students at The Kingsway School and we need your support. We can only keep providing the extras for students with the help of family voluntary contributions.

THE MORE SUPPORTERS WE HAVE, THE MORE MONEY WE RAISE FOR OUR CHILDREN

How else can you get involved?

We’d love you to join us at our informal termly (evening) meeting, where we:

  • Receive bids from school departments and decide which to fund

  • Hear the latest school news

  • Have a Q&A session with the Headteacher

We usually hold our AGM in the Autumn term, and our Committee Members are parent volunteers.

Our meeting dates are sent out via the usual school communications routes or you can email the office to check the next date.

The Kingsway Association is also trying a way to increase the funds available to school without costing anyone a penny. Easyfundraising.org.uk is an easy way you can help raise money for The Kingsway Association. Buy your internet shopping from over 4,000 retailers and a percentage of what you spend is donated to The Kingsway Association at no additional cost to you. Retailers include Amazon, John Lewis, eBay, Tesco and many more.

What do The Kingsway Association do with your contributions?

We try to help as many students as possible by providing the extras that local authority funding doesn’t cover. Our Headteacher receives bids from Heads of Department which they present to us at the termly meetings. The Kingsway Association then allocates the funds it has available.

Some of the things we’ve been able to provide include:

  • Whole School: A second defibrillator; 70 Chromebook laptops, providing an invaluable classroom resource.

  • PE: Competition kit for our excellent trampolining team; football goals and nets.

  • SEND: Allotment/greenhouse equipment; games and conversational materials; Lego Think Bricks; craft supplies and sensory equipment for autistic students.

  • Science: Molecular modelling kits; renewable energy kits.

  • Gifted & Talented: Access to the Model UN programme.

  • Design & Technology: Edible ink printer; Mother's Day cakes ingredients and packaging; trophies for competitions.

  • Geography: Field trip equipment.
