Toe by Toe (Multi-Sensory Phonetic Approach)
Duration: 12-18 months, Frequency: Twice weekly
Toe by Toe is designed for individuals who experience difficulties in reading. This program is applicable to emergent readers struggling with decoding skills, as well as those with dyslexia, dyslexic tendencies, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Irrespective of the specific nature of literacy challenges, all individuals can be instructed in reading through the Toe By Toe methodology.
Stairway to Spelling (Advanced Toe by Toe)
Duration: 12-18 months, Frequency: Twice weekly
Stairway to Spelling emphasises the swift, confident, and precise spelling and reading of the 300 most frequently utilised words in the English language.
Power of 2 (Mental Mathematics Intervention)
Duration: 12-18 months, Frequency: Twice weekly
Power of 2 is designed to establish foundational numerical concepts and enhance mental calculation abilities.
Motor Skills United (intervention for gross and fine motor skills)
Duration: 10 weeks, in groups of four
This Occupational Therapy Program, designed with colour coding and engaging activities, aims to integrate and enhance motor and perceptual skills that influence learning and handwriting. It is specifically tailored for students with Developmental Coordination Difficulties.

Between the Social Lines
To help understand social challenges faced by tweens and teens, such as managing social anxiety, making friends, dealing with bullies, understanding body language, filtering thoughts and blurting, fitting in, and much more. -
Comic Strip conversations
Comic strips (developed by Carol Gray) are a visual way to help explore a young person’s thoughts and feelings about a situation. -
Emotion Coaching
Emotion coaching is about helping children to become more aware of their emotions and to manage their own feelings particularly during instances of misbehaviour. -

AQA Unit Awards to aid reengagement in learning
Frequency: half termly
Allows students to engage with learning and have their achievements formally recognised. Learners are rewarded with a certificate each time they successfully complete a unit of learning. They can build up a portfolio of certificates to evidence their skills, knowledge and experience
ASDAN Life Skills
Durantion: 3 Terms
Introduces a wide range of personal qualities, abilities and achievements of young people, as well as introducing them to new activities and challenges.
Grow @ KS3 (reading recovery programme)
Duration: 10 weeks, in groups of 4
Growth in Reading, Oracy and Writing is a literacy programme for learners in KS3, who find reading and writing difficult in English classes and who also struggle to use literacy for learning in other subject areas.
Write from the Start (Handwriting)
Duration: 6 weeks, Year 7 ONLY
Offers a radically different and effective approach that will guide children through the various stages of perceptual and fine motor development to lay the foundations for flowing, accurate handwriting.
Chromebook (New User Intervention)

To show students who use Chromebooks to record their work, how to manage and store their work effectively.

Duration: 6 weeks
Thriving with ADHD is filled with easy exercises for students with the many facets of ADHD, from self-control and organisation to getting tasks done and making friends – so they can flourish at home, school, and beyond.
Friendship Formula
Duration: 6 weeks
Aims to improve social skills and engagement, helping individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder to form and maintain friendships. It enhances communication abilities, emotional understanding, and empathy, while reducing social anxiety.
Lego intervention
Duration: 6 weeks
An intervention designed to support social development in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through collaborative play. The intended outcomes of LEGO therapy include improved social skills, such as communication, cooperation, and problem-solving. By working together to build LEGO structures, participants learn to take turns, share, and negotiate roles and responsibilities. This therapy also aims to enhance peer interaction, increase engagement in group activities, and build friendships in a structured and supportive environment. Ultimately, LEGO therapy seeks to foster social competence, boost confidence, and promote positive social experiences.
Anxiety Workshop
Duration: 6 weeks
For individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) aim to equip participants with strategies to manage and reduce anxiety. The intended outcomes include improved understanding of anxiety and its triggers, development of coping mechanisms such as relaxation techniques and mindfulness, and enhanced emotional regulation. These workshops often involve cognitive-behavioral techniques, practical exercises, and peer support to help individuals identify and challenge negative thoughts, build resilience, and increase their confidence in handling anxiety-provoking situations. Ultimately, the goal is to reduce anxiety levels, improve overall well-being, and enhance daily functioning and social interactions.
Angry Gremlin
Duration: 6 weeks
The "Angry Gremlin" intervention helps individuals with ASD manage anger and aggressive behaviours by teaching them to recognise early signs of anger, develop emotional regulation skills, and use effective communication. Participants learn techniques like deep breathing and mindfulness to de-escalate intense emotions and identify personal triggers. By promoting self-awareness and using positive reinforcement, the intervention aims to reduce anger outbursts, improve social interactions, and enhance overall emotional control and coping abilities.
Anxiety Based School Avoidance (ABSA)

Interventions aims to help children and adolescents overcome the anxiety that prevents them from attending school. The intended outcomes include identifying and addressing the underlying causes of anxiety, developing coping strategies, and gradually increasing school attendance. These interventions often involve cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques, support from school staff, and collaboration with parents. The goal is to reduce anxiety, build resilience, improve academic performance, and ensure the student can engage confidently and consistently in the school environment.
Understanding ASD
Duration: 6 weeks
This intervention aims to increase awareness and comprehension of Autism Spectrum Disorder among young people. By providing accurate information about ASD's characteristics, challenges, and strengths, the intervention promotes acceptance and inclusion. It teaches effective communication strategies and equips families and educators with the tools needed to support individuals with ASD. Emphasising the importance of early diagnosis and intervention, the program also fosters empathy and understanding, helping neurotypical individuals appreciate the experiences and perspectives of those with ASD. Ultimately, it seeks to create a more informed and supportive community for people with ASD.
