Invigilation of examinations is carried out by a trained team of external invigilators who oversee the smooth running of all public examinations at The Kingsway School.

Rules & Regulations
Students are advised to read and study the documents issued by The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) to ensure that each candidate has a fair chance to complete examinations with confidence. Invigilators are instructed to record any unfair practice to the examinations officer. The examinations officer may report any such practice to the relevant exam board.

What to do and what not to do
Start of exams
- Morning exams start at 08:55
- Afternoon exams start at 13:00
- Be on time
- If you arrive late for an exam, you may not be allowed to take it
- Leave your belongings as directed by invigilators and go to your seat as stated on your exam timetable
- Once you have entered the exam room, you are under exam conditions (see below) and you must listen to all instructions given
Exam conditions
- NO TALKING to anyone
- Mobile phones, MP3 players, iPods and any other prohibited devices must be switched off and left with your belongings outside of the exam room
- Students are not permitted to wear wrist watches
- Only the required stationary should be on your desk in a transparent pencil case
- Please make sure any labels have been removed from water bottles before you enter the room
- Once seated you MUST NOT turn round. FACE THE FRONT OF THE ROOM AT ALL TIMES
- Any questions – raise your hand and wait for an invigilator
Malpractice
The following may constitute malpractice:
- Bringing unauthorised materials into the exam
- Exchanging information (or the attempt to do so)
- Disruptive behaviour
- Behaving in a manner so as to undermine the integrity of the exam
Penalties for malpractice
- Loss of marks gained for a unit
- Disqualification from the unit
- Disqualification from the whole qualification
- Disqualification from all qualifications taken in that series
- Barred from being entered for examinations for a set period of time
It is YOUR responsibility
- To know when and where your exams are
- To know your seat and candidate number
- To bring the stationary necessary for the exam (see below)
- To be aware of the JCQ rules and regulations
Before coming to any exam, you should make sure you have the following:
- 2x Black ball point pen
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Rubber
- Calculator (if required)
- Compass (if required)
- Protractor (if required)
- Pencil crayons (if required)
It is YOUR responsibility to have all the equipment you need for your exam!
Results Day - Thursday 24th August 2023
These are the arrangements for collecting your GCSE exam results on Thursday 24th August 2023.
You will be able to collect these from 9am until 11am on the 24th August. You should come to the Broadway site via the main reception entrance into the Broadway Hall. There will be staff available if you need to discuss your results with someone. There will also be representatives from careers service and colleges if you need any support. Your results will not be available online. If you are unable to collect your results from school on results day then you have the following options:
You can nominate a person to collect your results for you. This can be a family member or friend. If you wish to nominate someone to collect your results you will need to give consent for them to collect on your behalf. You can do this by giving them a letter of consent or by emailing a.page@kingsway.stockport.sch.
If you would prefer to have your results emailed to you please send an email to a.page@kingsway.stockport.sch.
