Library Opening Times
The library is open both breaks for our Key Stage 4 students and after school for Key Stage 3.
Facilities include use of Chromebooks, board and card games, quizzes and -of course- reading! The library is also used for the implementation of our key literacy programs; Lexonik and Spark Reader.
Homework Club
Homework club takes place every week, Monday - Thursday, 3:00pm-4:00pm.
This is a great opportunity for students to catch up with homework and gain some additional support with English and Maths. In addition to regular homework club, the library also hosts weekly quizzes,
Student Librarians
This is the sixth year the library has recruited Student Librarians. Librarian Mentoring has been a great success, and we have students in all years who currently help in the library during break 1, break 2, or after school. This gives students the opportunity to learn new skills, in addition to learning how to use the library.
Student Leaders of Communication
To boost students' confidence with reading, the Literacy Team has selected a number of students to participate with younger students as Student Leaders of Communication. Whilst the intervention encourages reluctant readers to boost their reading ability, extra merits for students participating with this process are also obtained.
